Confession time, friends. I don’t always move well into new things. Maybe you’ve been reading these blogs and you can already pick up on that, or you know me already and you’ve witnessed it.
Walking in new things and taking big steps with the Lord are a big deal, one in which God doesn’t take lightly. He’s so good at encouraging my heart!
He has a rhythm, a way, and perfect timing. He is the first musician! I believe our lives are like a song, played to the glory of God. As we LIVE He teaches us how to flow and come into sync with Him. What a beautiful thing!
There are times where God has had to give me an extra push or a gentle nudge to keep going. Why? Because Lord knows, I can sit and ponder how it’s all going to work out. I can remember in 2016 when God was telling us to sell our house. We didn’t have a place to go and I thought we needed to have all the dots lined up. But He kept telling me, NOW is the time. The events after the house selling would become clearer as we took that initial step of obedience.
It is not my job to protect myself or my life. He is My great Defender and My Warrior. And as I’ve taken the steps needed to move and keep moving…every single detail becomes clearer.
God being the creative God that He is, uses a whole host of ways to get my attention. A few months ago, on a Sunday morning our family was headed out to church. The Bay was covered in a thick and heavy fog. As we drove out of the Bay it became more and more clear. The sky was bright blue with hardly a cloud in the sky and the sun was shining bright. The contrast was so stark from what we just drove out of! My heart was stirred and I knew God was using the weather to talk to me.
God showed me that as we leave for the summer, He will lift the fog. As we step out of what is familiar and known He will reveal to us His plans. We will have clarity and greater insight into what He wants to do for us and in us!
Often times we have to take the step, the first step He’s asked us to take and the plans of the Lord will unfold for us. But the longer you try to sit and figure out what He’s doing the more out of sync and out of rhythm you get with the Musician. He wants to keep you in step with what He’s up to. His rhythm, His timing, His Way…are you moving to His beat? Are you in step with Him or are you trying to beat your own drum and create your own melody?
